Word is out that a local legend has joined the training team EPIC Fitness.
After closing her studio in Stayton, instructor Jackie Welter’s is bringing her music-packed workout — “Jackie’s Jam Session” – to EPIC, along with many of her followers.
In addition to establishing her Monday night dance aerobics class in May, Jackie will also be teaching cardio kick boxing starting next month.
The bubbly brunette is both admired and beloved by those she teaches for the attention she pays to each student.
Opening night for dance fitness is May 7th. The class is open to members at all levels of dance fitness, from novice to advanced. “It’s enjoyable for everyone,” she says. “You have to have the mindset of having a good time and leaving stress at the door. There’s all types of music and movement.”
All comers are encouraged to try the kick boxing class, as well. “You can come in brand new,” she says. “I’ll show you modifications, like instead of jogging in place you can march in place. It’s a mistake to try and keep up with the instructor. The idea is to get the heart rate up and sweat.”
Jackie came to the area in 2000 and has been leading classes for 18 years.
To meet her is to instantly like her. She’s a positive force of nature.
